We have been inquiring, thinking and learning. Let' s catch up on some of our questions and considerations.
What does an inquirer do?
Our first months of school were full of inquiry and we spent time celebrating some inquirers, who are always in search of knowing more and eager to research and find out.
Our new salad bar has us asking questions about fruits and vegetables and investigating through experience. Food service and nutrition friends stopped by and invited us to try some yellow and orange tomatoes. Did we like them? YES We also investigated a bit.
Is a tomato a fruit or vegetable? It is a fruit :)
We ask questions and inquire when we play a group game. What made this game work well? What can we each do to make the game fun? Can we make this game better?
Learning about Basketball with the CSU Women's Basketball Team
Why should we read? It can help us find answers to our questions and be a super power.
Our Grade 8 inquirers had the opportunity to hear from the Greater Cleveland Partnership and city planners about the the North Coast Lakefront project. We learned about the history of the land and plans for the future. We had the opportunity learn, ask questions and share our ideas and opinions.
They also brought a friend. We had a surprise visit from Chomps and he was kind enough to visit our PYP students. It made their Monday.
Community Project is an important learning experience in Grade 8 with a focus on research and service. Grade 8 learners spent time reflecting on who they are as learners and group members. They also considered topics they are interested in exploring.
Grade 2 inquirers exploring and discovering the big idea in their unit as they build understanding.
