“Intelligence plus character — that is the goal of true education.”  Dr, Martin Luther King Jr.

Thinkers across the school learned more about Martin Luther King Jr. and took action. Students in Grades One and Two recorded their dreams and goals to make the world a better and more peaceful place through equity, kindness and action.

Discovery and Investigation

Kindergarten inquirers explore and investigate penguins and where and how they live. Questions and observations guide their learning.

Exploring and investigating through art.

Kindergarteners also create as they discover then and now and express themselves as they share their families and traditions.

How the World Works in Grade One

Grade One scientists explore objects and how they change. Their ideas and questions drive their inquiry as they observe change and find out how and why changes in objects happen.

Grade Two investigates economics

These thinkers debate the question “Do we need Money?” They explore needs and wants and economic activities. While learning the basics of economics they also think about needs and wants and ways to help others.

Learning the basics of money, goods and services.

Exploring the vocabulary of economics and learning about how consumers and producers make decisions.
