Communicating and making connections

Communication and connection are important concepts we spend time exploring in our International Baccalaureate program at CIS. We also see these concepts in action, especially at Open House. Teachers shared our IB units of inquiry and made connections to our new reading curriculum and highlighted the links between concepts and skills. Students communicated curriculum and welcomed their parents with letters and projects.

Exploring what community means, connecting curriculum and enjoying a healthy treat from our salad bar.
Creating and celebrating what makes us unique and how we are connected in Grade 5!

Communicating and celebrating the Learner Profile. As an IB school, we work towards developing 10 attributes that help us learn, understand and grow as part of a school community and a global community.

Communicating and creating. We learn in many ways, including through choice and play.

Our units of inquiry have our learners reading, thinking and connecting. Our thinkers read and respond and build community.

Our school community brings us together and we share the responsibility to make our class a better place with classroom jobs. These Grade Three jobs were co - created and illustrated by learners.

More community connections

CSU students join our 2nd graders to read and practice skills.

Communicating and making connections through dance and games.

We communicate who we are with these Learner Profile Shirts.

We live the learner profile and wear it to remind us of who we are as we focus on growth learning.
