Form, Function and Perspective

Form, function and perspective are three of the Key Concepts we build on in PYP and MYP. Exploring our curriculum and our world through these conceptual understandings brings meaning and connection.


We are back at school with our masks on. What are masks like and what is their purpose? They cover our nose and mouth and they keep everyone safe. Our masks can also show our style, along with some of these hats and shirts with a message.

Perspective: What are the points of view? Check out these wishes as we look forward to the end of the pandemic. Many wishes to spend more time with those we care about.


More form and function in Mrs. Pohl's music class - learning a song with actions to match the words.

Learning form others gives us perspective. Meena Harris joined our Grade Two readers to discuss her book, creativity, inspiration and representation. The function of writing and reading also came up. We can see ourselves in books and learn about each other.


Mathematics : FORM AND FUNCTION

Fraction fun in Grade Three.

What are fractions like? What is equivalence? What do fractions represent?


More form and function creating groups and graphing in Grade One.


What units can we use to measure? Why do we need to measure? What is the function of standard units of measure? First Grade Mathematicians discover this and more.


Form and function experimenting with Peeps in Grade One.

More experiments with form and function in Kindergarten.


FORM and FUNCTION planting seeds. Studying form and observing changes as plants grow. How do plants grow? How do we use plants?

Perspective, form and function in Grade Four. What is migration and what are the perspectives? Form and function with operations in Mathematics and 4th Grade. These two action takers are sharing their perspective and are ready to take action.

This unit of inquiry in Grade five - form and function in human systems and civilizations and forma an function creating travel brochures.

Thinking form, function and perspective as we learn about the water crisis and water conservation. Exploring points of view as we learn about this essential resource and the scarcity of potable water in many places.


 


We share perspectives creating art and appreciating art. Think about form and function as you create and view.
