We started our week with 3-5 Morning Meeting and continued to reflect on the mission of our school and celebrate our 10 year Anniversary. This week we also recognized our first year as a fully authorized IB Continuum Programme; with the addition of our high school and their recent IB authorizations, we now offer three IB Programmes in grade K-12 . As we celebrate, we also live our mission by reflecting and inquiring. We wondered together: How do we “see” our mission at work everyday in many different ways?
These writers and artists created snowflakes and filled them with wishes that included ways to make the world a more peaceful place.
Wa are always living our mission as we Live the Learner Profile.
Our inquiring teachers spend time on action research with our Cleveland State University partners. Miles Bubbett and Sam Herron are developing an Equity and Inclusion teacher cohort, as they act “with courage and understanding”. They began by considering how this work fits into our mission.
The Campus International School Class of 2021
Teachers, MYP students, Cleveland State Faculty and CEO Eric Gordon came together to celebrate our first group of Diploma Programme students. We also recognized our young people who have been with us since year one as “inquiring, knowledgeable and compassionate learners” and leaders.
Class of 2024
High School leaders stopped by to visit during MYP lunch and share their spirit for their upcoming Homecoming games. They also welcomed our first group of 8th graders who have committed to CIS High School as citizens of the world. All Lower School students are guaranteed a spot at the high school. Projects make the world a more peaceful place
Our first group of Grade 8 researchers and action takers are completing the last pieces of their Community Project. Projects provide students an opportunity to develop as “inquiring, knowledgeable and compassionate learners“. Some of our eighth graders teamed up with Holly Jackson to create our 2nd Wall of Love and our third grade Kindness Club was happy to lend a hand in preparing items for the wall. We collected a total of 442 items. One of our third graders commented, “that’s 442 people that will be a little happier today”.
More posters are signs of projects. A few groups are collecting for the Cleveland Food Bank and our Wall of Love group is doubling their action by providing a hallway makeover to the floor that collected the most items for the wall. Other students post signs to create a group to save the planet.
Some of our 8th grade thinkers came up with a fun plan to raise scholarship funds for our Grade 8 Washington DC Trip. Spirit Week is a good time for everyone and can help an inquiring learner get to DC.
Projects in design start with a question and require some risk- taking as our designers gain knowledge and create mazes and tables.

Holiday shop cultivates creativity and compassion
Our annual holiday shop was a success and shows how much CIS cares as our entrepreneurs created many upcycled products, parents helped our shoppers and students helped each other wrap gifts. A special thanks to Th Begley family for all their hard work that makes this annual tradition such success.
