Our first week back was a great one. We spent time celebrating and catching up with friends. We also started to reflect on our last 10 years and plan for this year and our next 10 years.

Our thinkers and communicators around the school spent time creating representations of identity. Considering identity, our own as well as others is an important part of our IB curriculum. It is a great way to start the year and explore who we are as individuals and as well as part of a group.

Our first week is full of team- building and defining and setting exceptions for the year ahead. Our learners work in team to achieve group goals and spend time considering what they would like to learn about or do in their classes this year. We also consider and define what it looks like and sounds like to be responsible as a learner and a teacher. Building great teaching and learning environments is a collaborative effort.

The year also begins with thinking about our Essential Agreements. We always review these student created agreements, reflect and further define what each agreement means and how these community agreements help to ensure a supportive, safe environment for our school.

Our week ended with Joy and a party on the playground to celebrate our first week and begin the year- long celebration of our 10 year anniversary.
